What a spectacular flock! If Debs2 won't take them...I will fly over there, get my import/export license and visit them every day while they are in quarantine, till they can come live with me.

I'm so relieved they are going to a good home - its horrible having to let them go
The Polard (Elvis due to the quiff) is looking a bit bedraggled at the moment as she's only 18 weeks old and the others have hen pecked her a bit - poor thing - her feathers mean she doesn't even see them coming! She's very dizzy. I did think Sumo & Poodle (the mothers of the group) would take her in but she seems to prefer Polly & Harry...
Thanks again everyone for your support and offers of help! I'll definitely keep viewing this site and see how my girls are getting on!
Love Sharon x |

Hi Sharon
I have a young pekin hen (little dove) who is tiny and gets bullied by the others. Maybe her, elvis and frenchie will team up?
As part of a bigger flock - any hen pecking should get dispersed as they will all be free ranging together. I will also have three separate sleeping houses - so will keep an eye on who teams up with who and put them in accordingly.
I'm sure they will all be fine!!
P.S Sorry LisaLou and Deb. How could I possibly not have taken them all? |

| Hi Debs2, I had great plans for my girls splitting into certain houses ~ the big ones in the larger house the bantams in the smaller. I should have consulted with them first ~ most of the bantams went in the large one (with space to spare) with the 2 orpingtons and everything else large going in the smaller one. Every night I had to change a few around ~ this was before someone kept putting chickens in my back garden and they had to all move into the big shed! So good luck with putting them in selective houses!! |

LOL!
Well I won't force the issue if they choose for themselves. But they will have 3 houses to choose from, and Mark offered to build another wooden house for me, so there's even more opportunity to expand
As long as the cockerels have room to get away from each other - the ladies can choose their own bed mates!!!
Oooh it's so exciting - I can't wait!!! |

Hopefully sometime in December.
I want Sharon to have as much time as she wants with them before her trip, and I'm in no rush. (Well over than the impatience ROFL)
Mark's been showing the pictures round work - so he's fully bowled over by them too!!!
I think us poultry fan's are as daft as brushes!!! |
