Now that the clocks have "gone back" my Chooks are asleep when I go to work & asleep when I get home from work.....I havent seen them at all this week Which also means they dont get to have their "corn o'clock treat"
Does anyone else not see there chooks till the weekend now ? Or am I the only one ? |

No you're not the only one.
Sadly unless it's a Friday, when I finish early, I only see them at weekends. Its very annoying the time of year when they really could use the corn, they can't have it 'cos they've gone to bed before I can get there. |

I didn't see my Chookies yesterday either. They were really hungry this morning when the OH let them out. They must have missed their wheat treat. |

It's a shame. I see mine, as I don;t leave til 0845, and get home at 1630. Later on, they will not get their corn as even then it will be too late.

I am lucky as I work for myself with my OH and our office is based at home. So we get chook time every couple of hours. I have to say they are great therapy after dealing with crappy clients. They often pop indoors at lunchtime to share a tortilla or a warm raisin.
Usually when you go to make a cuppa all three are lined up at the back door peering in to see what we are up to. |

I see mine as I am either finishing or starting at Lunchtime - but I don't get back until 7.30pm on Wednesday so theydon't get their corn / porridge then
I have had a thought though I don't know whether it would work - what about putting their evening treats in one of those 'timed' pet bowls - so it opens @ 4pm or whatever time ? |

I get to 'see' mine for like two seconds as I am backing out of the garage and leaving for work.

sorry to hear you are all getting withdrawal symptoms. I guess I'm one of the very fortunate ones I'm at home so I can see them throughout the day, although at present I don't like to look at a couple of them, they look so tattily unhappy. I'm hoping they get their new feathers soon, or I shall have to knit them a jumper each!
The problem that I have is, that I'm so used to putting their treat out around 4.30 that I'm having difficulty adjusting to giving it to them earlier, so they've missed it a couple of nights. |

It gets dark so quickly, I keep forgetting to shut them in early enough. I too have a couple looking so small compared to how they normally look, in fact they;re pretty much oven ready |

| We have a light in the hen house so once they are in for the night I can throw grain down for them to keep them amused inside. Some eggs as a reward would be nice though! |
