Well my little bantams are growing fast (hatched 25/07) & heard the cockerel crow for the first time this weekend. The girls Very Happy look like they're bordering on POL soon as their tiny combs are reddening.
So far no complaints from the neighbours re Arnie the cockerel so fingers crossed & he won't have to find either a new home or end up in the pot.

Awwwwww, isn't the first (beginning) crows just too adorable!?

Glad they are coming along well. You should post some updated pics. Wink

well done with the progress of your chicks. Hopefully Arnie will keep himself in muted mode so he can stay with his, oh dear, are they his sisters? If they are I believe it's not good to let them mate, the offspring could have things wrong with them. Hopefully someone will correct this if I am mistaken. I just seem to have read something one time about you can line mate once i.e. father to daughters of mother with sons, but it's not wise to do it more than once and sibling matings are not to be encouraged.

the easy way i use to control inbreeding ..... Razz breed up and down.not sideways. Razz ............odd yes but think of a family tree.........up to mum and dad down to daughters and sons but not out to brothers and sisters...........its easy to remember once you have it.......................mojo

No Arnie will not be having an incestuous relationship. Luckily all unrelated birds. Laughing
