Why you should construe what I have written as 'rudeness' is a mystery to me. So please don't misconstrue this as well, but, cause trouble? What trouble? I do like to play 'spot-the-cliche' from time to time though and, by jingo, one of your contributors has been most accommodating in that regard. ["Pseudo-psychologists & armchair philosophers", living in "corridors" eating "cold, soggy porridge" while "gliding around on casters", etc. etc. etc.] There's nothing quite like a "plain good old" reactionary talking nonsense about the "real world" is there?

As the admin for the site I am writing this.
The problem with the written word is it is easy for someone to see one persons "straight talking" as rude, without the intonation and facial expressions that go with it. I can understand why some will see your words as rude. Others will see the same words as to the point, or blunt even, but not rude. That's the problem with words alone.
I hope the forum, and this thread in particular, is able to support a frank exchange of views and I hope that no-one feels it is becoming too personal. The topic is a very very contentious one that is guaranteed to bring up strong views and very little middle-ground exists. As long as the thread stays issue-based rather than becoming personality-based I am not going to interfere any more than this post.
Attacking or arguing the view is fine. Attacking or arguing with people isn't. |

Glad I live in America, where owning a gun is allowed except by felons and mentally ill people and you need to be an adult to purchase one.
I have just about any predator one could desire to have. From Minks to Eagles.About the only ones I don`t have are Wolverines and badgers. The worse ones I have are Coyotes, and even though some may think that man shouldn`t kill wild animals because man caused the problem, they are fair game any time here.I keep electricity on my pens and therefore I don`t have to kill hawks, owls ,foxes etc.Coyotes are another thing. They hunt as they should and kill deer--and I am so tired of cleaning up deer parts out of my front yard where during the night they killed a yearling deer. When the deer aren`t around, they try my chicken pens,so far I`ve been lucky because of the electricity.I will shoot any predator that tries to harm whats mine.Since the coyotes run in a packs here ,I`ll grab my Ak and collect the bounty and save my chickens.I would never try to shoot anything with an under powered weapon , always try for a good killing shot and use the right tool for the job.Never do head shots, too many animals have their lower jaw shot off or severely injured and they end up starving to death. Always shoot center-center on an animal and that way you get either a good lung or heart shot--the animal if it is able to run, will only go a short distance. When killing anything, know what you are doing and kill as humanely as possible. |

| George W is neither a felon or a mentally ill person. At least he has the backbone to stand up to the terrorists, not like some leaders of other countries, that try to appease them--how short the memory of Hitler and how trying to appease him didn`t work. But this thread is about foxes and predators, not our Commander in chief. |

I was just wondering. I have lived in Wisconsin, Illinois, Colorado, Arizona and now Oregon. I have visited Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, California and Washington. I have seen pretty much 2/3rds of what this country has to offer.
The only real part left is to travel up the Eastern Seaboard. I have relatives in Florida, so would start there and work my way up to Maine, where I also have relatives living.
Hope you enjoy the forum.
