We introduced our six newbies to the three oldies 10 weeks ago, for the first couple of weeks the newbies were in a closed run in the orchard. After this they were allowed to mix. There is only a limited mixing they do tend to go around in two groups and go separately to their respective houses. Up until now this hasn't been a problem. We're going to be adding another couple of chicken to the ever expanding flock and so I'd like to get them all into the big house.
Any suggestions welcome. I know it should be done at night. But I'm a real wuss when it comes to watching chicken violence and couldn't bear to watch any of my girls get beat up.

| when you let them out in the morning, if you see anyone looking ready to go for one of the others, throw a handful of layers pellets for them ~ food takes over. May need to do it a few times though, it worked with mine |

yeah, distract them with food in different areas, and then don't look. Go and read one of your many magazines, or help with the housework |
