|
|
Just wanted to share my excitement with everyone. Its day 20 and there's lots of cheeping coming from the incubator. I can see that 2 have definatley pipped. The previous lot in the incubator all died in their shells, which was really upsetting. I think it was due to humidity so I have run dry until Sunday, and seems like so far so good...piccies to follow when they emerge. |

Is a Large Frizzle bigger than a bantam ? I only thought they came in size "S"
Im tempted to try with Indian Game too ?....Excuse my ignorance tho'.....can they live with "normal" chooks ? I'd be V interested in seeing a pic of the little fella ! |

| Yes Frizzles come in 2 sizes. Large ones are not as common as bantam variety. I had to travel almost to Grimsby for mine (300 mile round trip). I bought 4 young ones and the eggs in the incubator. I dont know much about Indian Game, My neighbour has a trio and they seem friendly enough with people and their other chooks. They have some more eggs in their incubator & I dont suppose they will keep them all so let me know if you do want any as I am only down the road from you (Burntwood) |

Don't be tempted to keep an Indian Game cockerel with any other cockerels unless they've been reared together or WWIII will break out......why do you think the travellers like to steal them for cockfighting.
They're actually quite a 'flighty' (and fighty) breed.....but taste yummy!

Good luck with the hatch Carol. There's nothing quite like it. I have just spent the last 3/4 of an hour just watching my chicks on the grass.(i'm supposed to be grooming my dog for her appearence in the Grand Opera House tonight, better go)
