Been really busy this week at work, so missed out on the girls quite a bit, fortunately Jackie seems to be recovering and has started to benefit hen wise... she is also going to benefit from not being able to hoover, iron, clean out the hen house etc etc for the foreseeable... guess who has those jobs now??? Crying or Very sad Evil or Very Mad

Spent yesterday cleaning out the house and then as luck would have it, our friends across the road told us they had lots of spare turf over from the landscaping they have just had done. So we have now got grass down, all around where the hen house is, quite a good area... about 25 turfs in all which have covered up a large earthy area. The girls are delighted as are we, it looks really nice and now gives them another surface for them to root about on. I will post a pic soon.

Discussion today has gone into the what shall we get next scenario, Jackie wants to get a blue and a black Orp plus either a Wellsummer or Copper Black Maran from the New Forest in December and I want to get a Marsh Daisy or 2, if different colours and a Wellsummer and/or a Copper Black Maran or Partridge Wyandotte from Cris Reeves near to us. We just can't decide!! Confused Rolling Eyes

Oh no, now I'm feeling guilty, my hens need cleaning out and the weather is not good and my back is sore, so I'm pretending I'll do it later Sad
Post a pic of the turf, and then post a pic in a months time!! Laughing

Black and Blue Orps are pretty, as are Wellies and Cooper Black's. The choice runs into hundreds, and you can bet that your mind will change as you go and discover another type.
Good Luck Very Happy

Of course you mean the turf will look so much better in a months time as it will have taken and be like a Billiard table!!?? Rolling Eyes Wink

Fortunately they have stones, earth, cover, and a rockery to contend with as well as a patio, they are more interested in dust baths by the rhubarb at the moment! Rolling Eyes

You forgot to mention Marsh Daisies..... I need some support against the Ayatolah, she who must be obeyed oberointmentfhurer! Confused Shocked

Yes, the turf will look like a Bowling green Twisted Evil
As for the rest, just do as you're told, don't question anything and you'll be fine Laughing

If we could we would.... don't think we haven't thought about that... not enough room though. Looks like the Orps and a Wellsummer are faves at the moment! Rolling Eyes
