Ooh! I've just eaten my first and second home-laid eggs!
You can certainly taste the difference, much creamier and a much more subtle taste than shop-bought eggs.
The eggs didn't scramble as well as shop-bought (I'm not complaining, just observing!) and they have a drier texture.
When I broke them open the yokes were much paler and the white much runnier.
They were really tasty though and I think they were even better as I knew which hen had laid them! |

Glad you enjoyed them
the yolks will get more and more golden and the whites firmer as well once they get into the swing of laying  |
