can anyone tell me what colour black rock chicks should be when they hatch? |

| As they're a sex link, I imagine they would be black. As only accredited breeders can breed real Black Rocks, try asking one of them. |

| when a friend and i crossed a welsummer cockerel with a black rock hen all the black offspring were female and the gold ones male. |

Thanks for the replies,
The 2 chicks that hatched (bought from ebay as black rocks) are pale yellow, both have a black spot on the top of their head, and 1 has a black stripe down the centre of its back.
Any ideas to what they might be? |

| To be honest they could be a lot of things. The Black Rock itself is a hybrid (RIR Cockerel X Barred Rock Hen) and so when bred from (even if mated to a Black Rock Cockerel) would throw a range of different plumage colours in the next generation. |
