Some of you will remember my speckledy that comes through the kitchen window now and again, and used to lay the odd egg in the porch.
I always thought she was strange but now she's gone one better,
Every morning between 10 and 11 she hops onto the front room window sill and starts pecking at the window until I get up and open the back door,
If I'm not in the front room, she tries the kitchen and if I'm outside she follows me round till I go back in.
She strolls through the utility room, hops onto an old set of drawers and lays in the middle drawer - the top 2 are missing so there's a big gap.
As soon as she's finished she cackles away till I go and open the back door, then she strolls out like it's perfectly normal to be opening doors for hens.

By the time she gets in she must be desperate to lay, I think the longest she has been inside is 10 minutes
Sometimes as soon as she gets there the egg is out |

She's a special girl and she feels that her egg is just too special to be laid just anywhere.
It sounds very endearing actually.

Oh she's so cute. My Nanna who's really old lives in a two storey house and one of her chickens walks up the back steps and lays an egg at the door for her every day, its as if she knows my nan is too old to collect them everyday out of the coop!! |

But, you're always at work during the day, so you wouldn't be around to see them, |

There's always weekends though.
Ours regularly pop in to visit, leaving presents everywhere they go! |

Poor knobby,
What you need is a "Bring your pets to work" day, that'll brighten up the office |
