I would have got 3 birds rather than the 2 we have - the neighbours would take all the surplus eggs easily...
We are very happy with our homemade coop/run, which is a bit like a sedan chair - very elegant, no bending down, and shelter under the coop. Cost about €130 in materials, copied from an american design.
Not looking forward to the spring and the inevitable conflict between birds and seedlings though as they are out and about every day.....more netting needed....  |

No as i spent a year studying all the pros and cons before getting my chicks .

Thanks for the warning big D.
The shed i've converted for use at the moment was from B & Q and was shiplap which i'd not get again but to be fair it's done ok for the last year.
Not bad for around £40 which OH bargined B&Q down to  |
