Hi

I thought i'd update you re: dog situation.

Our german Shorthaired pointer died of "a mass of pus in her chest cavity, that was thick and gloopy". the vet tried to drain it but she died. he wondered if she'd had a penatrative injury in the past. she hadnit.

But 18 months ago she was hit by a car - hard- but only had internal bruising

Now the vet thinks she may have broken a rib, or a piece of bone fragment imbedded in her lungs and has festered there ever since!!!!

We're gutted but have decided to 'rush'in and are travelling 4 hours tomorrow to look at a wirehaired pointer pup.

So we'll be back to a youngter in the house, something else to introduce the chickens to and her to them. I hope my little welsummer isn't put off laying! Lastly my husband has to start the long road to her becoming a valuable partner in the man/hawk/dog partnership!! lol Smile

Wonderful news, a dogless house feels empty. I'm still checking there's not an elderly lab stretched out to trip me up, but puppies after Chrismas for us.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. It's heartbreaking at the best of times, let alone knowing now it was due to an oversight of the vet.

Don't forget to put some pics on of your new puppy if you get it tomorrow.

I've just got a puppy a few weeks back as my sheep shy sheepdog is getting on a bit, and to soften the blow when the time comes. She's a little Westie and full of mischief.

He is now 13 weeks old but already showing signs of being a good gundog.
I cant attatch a photo sadly.

Where are you going to look at the pup Tia Maria?

Welsh Duck, how old's your Westie? I'm hoping mine will be a good ratter, because she'll earn her keep then LOL Just kidding. She's a little devil at the moment.

So sorry to hear about your dog.

Our little minpin disappeared overnight the other week because of fireworks, we were devastated until he came back in the morning so I have an idea how you feel.

they make a home.

Best wishes for finding your new addition and look forward to the photos.

Well we have (after a round trip of over 400 miles) a lovely German Wire haired Pointer bitch aged 13 weeks old

She looks amazingly like our liver and white spaniel and has settled in very well.

She has taken everything in her stride, though she's a bit nervous of the chickens cos they crowd round her when she's trying to get out of the garden gate into the field for a wee.

She cried for 10 minutes last night which is brilliant and I've got fingers crossed for tonight (off to bed in a mo)

Bless her she's not Lexi but she's a character all of her own and has stepped into some very big shoes - with confidence and we are hopeful that she's going to be a cracking dog

Night night all
