I decided to keep it simple and I soft-boiled my first egg for brekkie this morning.

It was a rather small breakfast, I had to share the egg with my OH!!

But it tasted so nice, well worth the wait Very Happy

Are they Marans hens, Debbie? I also had a first egg today, from one of my Marans pullets and was very disappointed because it's not dark brown at all, just has flecks of dark brown. Although I'm very pleased she's started to lay Smile

after a bit of detective work i have realised it was not a cream egg but a white egg (dohhhh) and it was and is being laid by speckle our leghorn exchequer not goldie our gold laced wyandotte as previuosly thought.
