Another question to pick you're brains.

Big D mark 2 is nearly finished Applause Applause Applause Applause

The run is 8 foot long and 2.5 feet wide with the coop raised above it (3 by 2.5 foot square)

How many chicken's could I "sensibly" fit in it?

The girls are out in the garden all weekend and roughly 2 hours each working day.

1 sq foot of house space & 4 sq ft of run space per LF absolute minimum. This is actually more than the defra recommendation! Since LF vary very much in size as do bantams, start with three and add in the spring when things start growing again & you're less likely to have them living in a mud wallow.
