Thanks to Jaydee for the Ascott link - my new water and feed thingies came today!!! Yippee!! Our chickens will feel much less like Steptoe and son now!!
Anyway - I thought I would have a play with them - putting them together and stuff!!
The green and white feed ones were a doddle (although a bit fiddly as the nuts and washers were very small.
Then on to the red and white water ones! Now how hard can it be to put a red bottom on a white holder??????? Well I was at it for ages - I just couldn't see how I could get the water in, stop it from falling out - and the chickens be able to drink from it. I even thought they'd sent me the wrong red bits.
Boy did I feel SO stupid when I realised I had the red things upside down!!! I think I even blushed even though I was on my own!!
Do I win the Numpty Award of the Week????

Absolutely, the award is yours
Just don't try Quiz Call then
Actually, when mine were chicks I used to use just the base upside down for them |

Freeview Channel 37
lots of different quizzes, where you get the chance to phone in and win pounds,
bit addictive, though, I never phone premium rate numbers, but love working out the problems |

Psst! Debs 2!! Just between you and me, while no-one else is listening....
You know how you fill it up with water upside down, then put the base on and turn it the right way up. Well, apparantly, if you put your finger over the hole before you turn it over, the water doesn't come out straight away and you don't get wet feet everytime
But don't tell anyone else it took me ages to work that one out, okay.... |

(Maybe that could be one for Pete and Jackies top tips for newbies!!)

| oh wow, Lisa, thank you so much for that one. I am always soaked, especially with the new drinker I've just bought. I just couldn't work out where I was going wrong....now I know. Perhaps I ought to put in for the award too |

I couldn't work out how to fit the base to a red and while drinker either for a while, so you're certainly not alone |

Tell me about it, we stayed up for ages last night watching one puzzle, just so we could find out the answer, but we ended up going to slept before it was solved |
