Here's Barney Smile

She had a bad year last year with feathers dropping out, bald patches everywhere, eggs not right, but this year after her first moult she is a lot better, her eggs are still not a good colour, more spotty, but she is so lovely.....

That can't be true of the bantams! Surprised We had 2 & they were the most friendly, laid-back birds we've ever had! Very Happy
Sadly missed & would have this breed again for sure. Just got to find a good dark egg laying strain of bantam. Wink

SL I have only had Barney, so can only defend her really but temperamental is not what I would say she is....she's fab. Wernlas outside Onibury recommend them for beginners .... Very Happy

Ahh, you mean cockerels! Rolling Eyes
Well, not had any of those to comment about, only hens but cockerels of any breed can be aggressive, expecially in the breeding season. Wink

Good point I think trouble was they were a bit bigger than most of the others & liked throwing their weight around Smile

Hoping to hatch some of these in the next few weeks. Keeping my fingers crossed cause I love the feathers and the general shape of them.
