| the blu laced barnevelders are stunning, but they are hard to find...i saw them at european show in Lipsia last year and at zuidlaren show in the netherlands |

Here's Barney
She had a bad year last year with feathers dropping out, bald patches everywhere, eggs not right, but this year after her first moult she is a lot better, her eggs are still not a good colour, more spotty, but she is so lovely.....

That can't be true of the bantams! We had 2 & they were the most friendly, laid-back birds we've ever had!
Sadly missed & would have this breed again for sure. Just got to find a good dark egg laying strain of bantam.  |

SL I have only had Barney, so can only defend her really but temperamental is not what I would say she is....she's fab. Wernlas outside Onibury recommend them for beginners ....  |

| Well i've only had 2 cocks in the past gold & blue laced & they were hand reared & fine up until they met some ladies & then started becoming more agressive & hated been handled but were fine up unitl then???? |

Ahh, you mean cockerels!
Well, not had any of those to comment about, only hens but cockerels of any breed can be aggressive, expecially in the breeding season.  |

Good point I think trouble was they were a bit bigger than most of the others & liked throwing their weight around  |
