Croatian bantam is an old breed, but, the breed is never standardise. In 2007 a group of enthusiasts, colected the remaining birds from villages, and made standard for this breed. Later in 2007 the Club of Croatian Bantam Breeders was founded. Then we are start with breeding in standard.
How much is known, the Croatian people are breed this hen for centuries.
This hen requires little food, and care. She need big and opet outage, where she found moust of food.
The hens are excellent mothers. She lay obout 10 - 15 eggs, and then go boody. The eggs are white, and weigh obout 30 - 35 g.
The wigh of an adult cock is obout 700 g and hen obout 650 g.

They are very mery character, and they love to fly. It is difficult to keep them in one place Laughing Laughing
But, if you keep them in voliera or somthing similar, they are quite tame.

We can say that this is a chicken with character Wink

Big D - they lay obout 100 - 120 eggs, if you colecting eggs. If you leave eggs on nest, they lay obout 10 - 15 eggs and go broody. The interesting is, that the chickens heatch on 19 day. And the hen go broody all year, the winter is not problem for her.
