Hi Rob,
Had a small emergency when going to collect the cocks I was taking to Clitheroe - one escaped and i spent an hour chasing it lol, hence why I wasn't in.
No viable geese there any way, just three older ones.
Have spoken to a friend and he may be able to get you an oven-ready one nearer to Xmas if you are interested. |

| Thanks for all your replies - I have ordered one now (never cooked one before so it will be a real treat - I hope). |

Hi Robgodfrey - forgive me if I'm preaching to the converted, but, when you cook your goose, don't forget to roast it on a rack over a deep roasting tin, as you will get a lot of fat running off it during cooking! Don't throw the fat away, keep it, it really is the BEST thing to roast potatoes in! Also, you don't get as much meat on a goose as you would on an equivalent sized turkey, so don't underestimate the size you need. Nothing quite like a well cooked free range goose for xmas dinner though - good luck! |
