A Shetland sheep called Bertie.
I saw him a while ago on Preloved, being offered free to a good home. People have had him since a lamb, and although not a cade, he has been fussed by their children, and loves to be stroked.
He arrived on Sunday. And is out with the goats and llama. He actually prefers human company, and tries to get out the gate when I leave. In fact, last night, when I went down the lane to feed the old ponies, Bertie somehow got out, and came looking for me, only he passed the field gate in the dark and kept going, with me in hot pursuit. I felt really silly when a van pulled up behind me, as they had obviously spotted Bertie in the headlights, and asked if that was my sheep ......I said yes, its Bertie, and kept running. Bertie got to the next farm, realised I was not in front of him, and ran back, into my arms. I managed to grab his horns, and lead him back home. Hope he does not try that again . I thought the field was goat proof, but have put up more barriers.
Its hard work creeping out of the gate trying not to be seen. He kicks off big style when I leave. |
