I had Barney round yesterday for Little Chick's family party and he said he's keeping a lizard at home and i was wondering if anyone has any reptiles.
Because I know nearly everyone has farm animals but i know nothing about people who keeps reptiles aswell as farm animals |

We have corn snakes and gheckos, with a royal python next on my 'wish list'.
We also have tortoises and terrapins (plus some of the more usual stuff ).
Reptiles are fantastic creatures, but need to be kept in the correct conditions and they all vary in needs. These set ups are the expensive part of reptile keeping, plus lots of electricity

I worked with reptiles for about 6 years when I was younger - iguanas were by far the most common animal we had to deal with.
I did qualifications in aggressive reptile handling, venomous snake handling and crocodilian handling as well as more mundane (but useful) things like nutrition and care. |

| they are really nice, have you had them both since they were small? They both look really healthy too - do they spend lots of time outside in the summer? Do you hibernate them over the winter? |

Yes I have had Scooter since he was as small as Zippy, I got Zippy in March this year.
I have just put them both into Hibernation this week, it will be Zippy's first time in hibernation so I am a little worried about it, I shall be on tender hooks now till next march hoping that Zippy will survive.
They do tend to spend most of the summer outside, so that is normally 2 days
I only bring them in during the summer if it is wet. |
