OH has just got back from his first visit to UK since moving here over 2 years ago and all he keeps on about is the amount of traffic and how long it takes to get anywhere. Stansted to Salisbury too him over 4 hours and at 4pm on Sunday afternoon it took him nearly 40 minutes just to get out of his parking space at Tescos (the cheese and pickled onions were worth it though ).
Having thought long and hard about things I don't think we will be going back in the immediate future, as we get older this place is going to be too much for us in the upkeep of the grounds so we will make a decision then on whether to go back to UK or find a smaller more manageable place here.
In the mean time we will get some trees cut down (they have to come down anyway as they are a danger to the lake banks) and then I may not feel so claustrophobic. I do love the peace and tranquility here - and the unclogged roads |
