back from vets with panicur, had to pretend it was for my dogs or i would have to take him in what a game it is also got complan try to build him up a little |

Try a small bowl of really runny warm mash (pellets soaked in water to soften, cold water drained, mash pellets up, warm water added. Maybe put in some yogurt and some canned veggies - drained and mashed, to the mix.) see if he will eat it on his own first, before struggling to force him.
The more stress, the longer recooperation takes. At least that is my experience. But yes, he does need liquids in him. So a runny mash should do it by giving him liquids and nutrition at the same time. |

| cheers Deb, he cant eat by his self he is just so weak although I'm not sure if it is just wishful thinking but he seems just a smidgen more alert ive been giving comlan about half a teaspoon by syringe followed by the same amount of water, would that be enough 3 times a day do u think?? he is a sleep in a box in my room at the mo his head touching the quilt he is laying on. |

I do not even know what comlan is. I don't think we have that over here.
I would try and give as much water as possible. I don't think that 1 1/2 teaspoons is enough to sustain Charlie. I have 87 chickens and go through approximatley 7 gallons of water a day with them, not counting what they swipe out of the cow and horse troughs and the duck pool.
He sounds very weak. It doesn't seem good. My thoughts are with you. Just keep trying to give him as much as he will take. |

pardon my spelling complan it is .will give more water ,just had a light sussex go same way so this is both my cocks and my first hen so i have 3 ill now wormed all 3 with stuff from vets cant get no fluvenet or whatever so will send for some on Line as the vets have already done me for £40 just for Rocky
