On Saturday, the chickens were free ranging as normal, mark was having a bonfire. He and I were sitting chatting, as the chickens started wandering back from their travels, minus Little Chick. I commented, asking what they'd done with her, and thought nothing of it. However, at lock up time, she wasn't there
I had a look around the usual places, but knew she wouldn't be there. It was dusk, I called to her, and heard no chirping in reply.
Mark looked later, and nothing.
We left early on Sunday morning for a trip, and I half hoped I'd see her hanging around, waiting to get back to the coop, but know.
I am pee'd off, she was my younger version of Mrs White, who is my best egg layer, and best producer of Sasso's. Little Chick wasn't far off her mum's size at 13 weeks...so I am surprised to have lost her.
I haven't free ranged the older birds since, they are more confined now, although whatever took LC, would probably be able to take another

| So sorry to hear about Little chick, you really haven't had much luck with your chicks lately. Just hope next year is a bumper year for you to make up for your disappointments this year. |

| Well, I have to be honest....I am not heart broken, as I do see these birds far more as utility birds. So, I am pee'd off that some predator has had a good meal after my weeks of feeding. And, she was a lovely bird. |

Darn, that's worrying. Hopefully she was just unlucky thirteen. |
