I have a contact for ducks (silver appleyards) but the are in 86 Vienne. Its a long way to travel for us, before I contact the breeder to beg for eggs, would it be possible to arrange a "relay" to bring them closer to the Dordogne. I don't want to trust them to the post. Obviously I wouldn't expect anyone to bring them all the way, (unless they were coming) but there is no point in my arranging with the breeder for some if I can't get them home. |

Where are you near in the Dordogne, it's a big place?
I could meet someone say at Castorama in Limoges and bring them down to Thiviers way, if you are this side of Dordogne. |

| Thanks for the offer, but I was only making the enquiry possibly for next spring. The eggs are not likely to be fertile at the moment, but I thought I'd better enquire as I didn't want to order some and then have to let the breeder down. I'm near Mussidan, its almost in the middle of Dordogne, but north of us would be good, and about as far as Angloueme in the Charente. |

Good idea that, except the breeder says she has lost some birds and only have 3 laying ducks left. I asked for 12 eggs but have been told, to make sure they are fresh they'd rather do 6.
I'll get back in touch in February and start to ask again!! |
