I think Itsy would say 12, I say 16 to 20....depends on how they feel at that age.
They are growing well, and I have to weigh up the pros and cons of them needing more food for the cold weather. So far, we've had such lovely weather, all their food has been converted to weight. When the weather gets much colder, they'll be using some to keep warm.
Little Chick is 13 weeks old, and I would say (even though she is staying to be another producer) that she would need another 4 weeks to be ready. So, 17 weeks for a summer growing bird, but longer for a winter grower. |

Interesting to see Gauloise and Pictaves there. No one seems to have heard of them in the UK but Dutch (which are essentially the same type) are commonplace. Each country has its own version of farmyard bantam but only a few have made it to other countries.
Perhaps I should try and get some Pictave eggs in the spring.....
