Just wondering what is more popular as a main feed?

If you've fed either in the past, vote for what you feed now!

And name the brand - some are better than others Wink As I found out when I bought a big bag of mash, that was a lot more powdery than the little bags I bought from another store Sad

If you feed neither - do tell what you do feed instead Razz

I feed mash (plus lots of healthy extras). Can't name the good brand - waiting to go back to that feed store to get the details (they bagged it up into smaller bags so I don't know the name).

I'm using Marriages at present, and that's as technical as it gets.

Dodson and Horrell layers - they're the only ones available locally. The girls like them, and i think they're far less wasteful than mash

Wow! Pellets definitely are the most popular so far!! I thought they would be - but didn't realise by how far.

Not that it matters - its only curiousity getting the better of me Very Happy

I feed both, pellets in the feeders all the time, mash mixed with water and any leftovers suitable for the hens in the trough in the morning. Variety - feed store own brand - not a lot of choice there.

Pellets here too!

but 1/2 hour before I give them their wheat & corn, (late in the pm) I make up a very soggy bowl of pellets with warm water and they love that, that way I feel Ive given them the best shot at getting the nutrients for the day before filling themselves up on the corn.
