Excuse me for being thick but if you have a Cockerel all year round and he is performing with the hens won't some eggs be fertile Laughing

Also don't know how true this is but have been told that you can only hatch Brahams in an incubator not under a broody!!!!!! found that one really strange.

coqs have a higher fertility in the spring therefore the most chance of successs is to use spring eggs.....but as fertility drops during winter it doesnt stop alltogether but the odds of a good hatch decrease.........Brahmas can be hatched under the hen which laid the eggs .and under a surogate broody hen or in an incubby .all work all have their sponsers...............you will find we all have slightly differant ideas how to raise poultry...........the important thing is to absorb as much knowledge as possible and apply it as you see fit

How exciting, let us know how you get on. I have 2 Gold Brahma hens, and am looking forward next year to getting together with James419, who has a Gold Brahma coq (who is doing his thing now Very Happy ), and producing another coq, to replace Trousers, who died earlier this year.

Will be interested to know what type of Brahma you have coming to visit.
