Has anyone got the name or website address of a good supplier of onion sets and seeds etc for autumn and winter planting .
We have tried locally and cant find any decent stuff , its all old stock and ratty. Cabbage seeds seem to be almost unobtainable here !!
thanks in advance , Jan |

We grew a lot of Thompson & Morgan stuff, the onion sets and all the seeds have been very reliable and produced good crops. The potatoes have cropped, not abundantly but then our soil is not yet in the best of conditions and it's been a very wet summer!!
We're getting a good crop of brassicas from young plants bought from the local garden centre. They were reduced when we bought them, so we're very pleased with the results.

I've used Thompson and Morgan too - good company.
I've also used seedlings from local garden centres for things like peppers which are costly to buy as seed. |

| The Allotment Association I am a member of uses Kings. I have always found them to be of excellent quality and very well priced. I have grown the over wintering onions for the past 2 years from seed. I have found them not to be worth the effort. If you grow summer onions of 2 or 3 varieties some will store until May. |
