Hi Everyone,
I have had Pekin Bantams since 4/8/08, 4 hens and 1 cockerel, but yesterday one hen died . She had been a bit "quiet" for a couple of days and I'd noticed some yellow diarrhoea, but wasn't really sure it was from her, just thought she was a bit quiet. She died yesterday evening. Today my favourite hen also has yellow poo. I would welcome any advice as I am a complete newbie to poultry keeping and don't know what has caused it or what I need to do. I have taken all birds out of their hutch and separated the quiet one but am worried as she was the smallest and most hen pecked anyway. Any advice would be very gratefully accepted.
Thanks,
Cate |

Hello Marmacat,
Yellow poo in itself is not necessarily always a sign of illness. If your hens are otherwise looking and appearing healthy, just keep an eye on them and if the yellow poos seem to get more frequent or others go off their food, then that's the time to take one to the vet. Hen's innards get a clear out from time to time and this is what causes the yellow poos. |

| Maybe try a bit of apple cider vinegar in their water and some bio yogurt with a few oats. |
