Lara, my last Rhode Island Red, went on a one way trip to the vets this afternoon Sad

Her diarrhea never cleared up. The vets couldn't see anything obvious in the sample I took in and had no real explanation for her condition - mainly because apart from not laying any eggs for the last 10 months, she had no other symptoms. All they could suggest was worming her again which I did with a double dose of Flubenvet.

But yesterday evening I noticed her breathing was a becoming laboured and she had lost quite a bit of weight. So I decided this morning that enough was enough. She obviously wasn't well and it was time to say "goodbye"...

My usual vet wasn't in so we had to see a locum, which was a bit of a shame but she was quite nice considering. I asked her to do a post mortem after to see if she can tell me what the problem was, and if it was a tumour like her sister (Ninja) died from. Still waiting for the vet to ring.

Sweet dreams little Lara...
