Yes I actually do get some spare time now and then and make a bowl or pot now and then too. Its very therapuetic after a long day laughing at our hens !!
I sell them sometimes if they are any good , just enough to cover the cost of the wood and a bit of polish. Here are a few I made recently , aha! see I avoided the classic earlier !! lol Laughing
Todays new items, spinning tops inspected by Harry. Rosewood top in the shape of a heart and Oak top in the shape of an acorn. £15.00 each, they do spin!!!! very well!!!! with stands.

Blimey! what a lovely response. Thankyou.
The ones in the pics are for sale if anyone wants them , as for orders if you have anything in mind I'll see if I can do it . Best to send me a pm and take it from there.
I made some apples from applewood recently and they looked quite good , they got bought before I got to take a pic of them .
I didnt mean to advertise as I do it for pleasure and love wood things too, but selling some pays for more!

I agree with all of the above comments, and I am not at all surprised that they get bought quickly. Well done.

They are fantastic. Smile

OH loves anything to do with wood. He has a 'shopsmith' and is experimenting with doing bowls etc but to be fair it's been used at the moment for all the wood stuff we've had to do in the house.

I love wood it's so tactile.

You obviously enjoy it judging by the finish, that takes time.

I'm real glad you all like them , I will post more pics when I make more but dont want to abuse the forum and turn a posting into a shop .

Thanks Dusty , I know the shopsmith but would not be able to work with it as you have to change back and fro with the set ups , it would drive me mad!!!! and a bandsaw is almost obligatory for a turner and it cant do that. I have separate dedicated equipment , two lathes , one a swivel head 1000mm axminster 900 and a smaller axminster 650 for pen making and smaller spindle work. An electra beckum BS615s bandsaw, ryobi 254mm table saw, mortice/pillar drill , home made router table with ryobi 2050w router , drystone and whetstone grinders, and a whole load more various other bits of equipment. I have spent my life accumulating all I have and there is always something else you find you want or need !!!I dread to think what its all worth but would easily be in the tens of thousands.
I fell in love with wood when I was 13 and had a great woodwork teacher and now at 52 I still thank him in my head for his encouragement.
I now and for the past 25 years have only used reclaimed or internationally registered sustainable woods , I find there is no need to breach that rule as there is more than enough to go around without uprooting rare and precious trees. This part of my philosophy about wood is very dear to me and I get quite angry when I see tv shows that show a couple of modern day yuppies demanding exotic woods for thier designer homes, they probably dont know thier cocobolo from thier coconuts, or wenge from whinge! lol
I think I will have to open a page on our gallery rather than keep posting a bowl post!!

Once again thanks for your comments , I might have 39 years of being around wood but still consider myself a student and appreciate greatly your kindness and interest.
