| They could take up to 28 weeks as they are a pure bred. As we are approaching winter, they may wait untill spring to lay, a lot depends on the weather. |

| mine are still not in lay jonrat - though their combs are getting brighter so there is hope! Have they all settled in well? |

Officially, I was told Light Sussex usually reach POL at about 25 weeks, however, my three are now 27 weeks and I've had four tiny little eggs from one of the girls on odd days over the last ten days, but the other two are still showing no sign of egg-laying whatsoever!
Their combs have also started to get lovely and red - and they roost properly at night, not like my ex-batts who insist on sleeping in the nestboxes. . . ! |

| Point of Lay is set at an arbitary 16 weeks when they change from grower food to layers. The fact that it's only rather forward hybrids who might really be contemplating laying is immaterial. I don't expect a heavy pure breed to produce an egg before 26 weeks at the earliest. |
