| The bottom one I would have said was welsummer x light sussex, but the top one looks more like a welsummer than anything else. |

Correct with the bottom one and almost right with the top one - look at the top of the head . |

| Aha, Welsummer x cream legbar and I really should have known as she's very similar to my welbar x cream legbar! I've got 10 WS x LS with a broody at the moment, having had the cross before and finding them excellent all rounders. |

Yes it is Welsummer x CLB - she is called Tufty . I do have to take a second look when she is running with the Welsummers! I love the Welsummer x Sussex Light (named Clara by granddaughter), she is the only one and not having a Welsummer cockerel anymore will be the only one in my flock - be interesting to see what colour eggs she lays. I have a gorgeous 12 week old Welsummer x CLB cockerel (I think it's known as Golden Crele (sp?) colour) that is due to go in the freezer in a few weeks - I can tell you he is so beautiful i am tempted to keep him except that I want to keep one of the Barnvelder cockerels and can't keep both . |

Clara should lay mid brown eggs, darker than supermarket brown, and tufty probably olive. Because a welbar egg is lighter than a welsummer, mine lays pale olive.

| Thanks henwife, I am expecting Tufty to lay a white egg as mum is a white egg laying CLB but maybe I am wrong! |
