|
|
Hi All
First time breeder here! I have two hens sitting on two lots of 11 eggs. One hen has hatched two healthy chicks four days ago, I have checked this morning and there is another healthy looking one on its feet and yet another pipped with a third of its outer surface fallen away and still the white thin inner layer intact.
Do I just keep the chicks in with the other eggs and will they all cope alright or is there a risk that they will peck at the hatching eggs prematurely?
The hens are in separate 'hutches' next door to one another outside - the remaining 7 chickens are in a separate hen house.
They are warrens x black rock I am told.
Many thanks for any advice

Just leave the hens to do what they do best & only ever intervene if there's a real problem.
Good luck with the rest of the hatch. |

After a little experience with broodies and incubator.... Best advice i've been given is to leave all well alone. She'll know what to do .... I was terrible at worrying and fussing we.ve had much better hatch rate now i feed water and leave the rest to nature Emma |
