I have just managed to tip the contents of the bag of chick crumbs into a bucket of dirty water and can't get out to get some more.
I have growers pellets, wheat, crushed maize, oyster shell, grit available, if I grind these all together in the coffee grinder would it be OK as a substitute just for tonight/tomorrow morning until I can get out to get some more crumbs? |

| Whizz up the growers pellets a bit - they'll be fine. |

| Thanks for the help they have been merrily pecking away at the ground growers and cheeping away quite happily. I will try them with the soaked pellets a bit later. Always useful to know what can be given in an emergency. |

| Oatmeal is good if you haven't got any chick crumb. The medium or fine ground. It's full of goodness. |
