| I feel stupid asking this question because I feel I ought to know the answer after all people cross breed game and domestic birds don't they? But would wild pheasants interbreed? I have a visiting threesome, male and two females, they melt in and out of the surrounding field and I found my cockerel quite unperturbed about them. Is this normal? |

| no.....pheasants and chicken dont interbreed(for technical reasons) in fact pheasants only seem to breed with their own varieties.............as my gold have never bred with wild ones and a friend who has golds and amhurst says they wont cross bred...............so intresting as the chicks may seem unless interesting are into AI usage sorry no unless someone has proof different |

| Can also look on feather site, which has more about different crosses on the hybrid section. Only reason i found out about these is that i was given some day old pheasants to brood with some chicks under a broody and I wanted to make sure that there would be no cross breeding as they got older. So i sent the pheasants back at 16 wks just in case. |
