Hi all- This is my first post after just acquiring 3 chickens. I haven't had any since a young lad.
Anyway , apart from raw potato and onion is there any other fruit/veg I should avoid feeding them.
Thanks in advance

Cheers Mojo
After looking at other post you seem to be spot on. Maybe I should give them a couple of weeks to settle on the pellets and then the veg/fruit/ corn will be a treat.
What about the oyster shell. My breton neighbour has given me some which i sprinkle in the run, and have put some in a feeder. Is this correct?

I give mine a separate pot containing mixed grit (i.e. bits of oystershell plus insoluble grit) They just help themselves when they feel they need it.
If you just sprinkle the oystershell in the run it will eventually just dissolve and you'll be wasting your money. Better to keep it dry, in a pot. |
