I have lost two ducklings in the last week and finally I think I have found out why. My oldest duckling (6-8 weeks old) was fighting off two crows who were trying to get the two smaller duckings from around her.  Obviously the crows had had my White Indian Runner and My smallest Muscovey.
I had two Gold Partridge Pekins in a cage in the duck stable, one was a cock and one a hen - they looked lovely just ready to go to their new homes and went their yesterday and they had disapeared ( rat holes in and around the cage) Our ratter paid them back and killed 4 nearly mature ratlings  |
