Well it's not at it's finishing price yet, and why because it's plastic do you think it will be red mite proof?

Yes it will - you only have to think of portable toilets at shows to realise just how hot these plastic sheds get inside.

pros :its easy to convert ,its watertight, vermin proof, light, excellant ventilation if its an old one with glass windows where you do not have to open the whole window just a small window up the top but on the other hand it is a pain as there are lots of hiding places for red mite if you do not fence around the base with chicken wire for some strange reason the hens prefer it underneath if you have it in an open run magpies seem to like going into caravans and pinching eggs we currentley use one in our breeding pen but we have a few shed we are converting this summer and will be using the caravan as a feed store once thats done but we have had a good years use out of it as a house and when it comes to red mite prevention is better than cure fortunatley we never got them in there but i dreaded the thought of it happening hense the reason we are changing the house |

i should also add we got it for free by placing a wanted must be free add in the paper ,all lights etc were fine the bloke just wanted rid as did not want the hassle of renting where he kept it if you are going to collect one on its last legs though make sure you take a trailer board with a long enough cable just incase the light do not work,we did have another old one off freecycle and regarding getting rid once it has served its purpose you need a strong man and a trailer just stripp it down all non metal take to the tip and the scrap metal you can go and weigh it in we got paid £20 odd for the bits we salvaged off the one we convereted and made a trailer out off only downfall is it is messy and hard work to do hth |
