As we are trying to work toward self-sufficiency we said that we would eat what we grew. However, having had chickens for a couple of weeks I know that I couldn't eat them - they are my friends.
Guess I'll be vegetarian and self-sufficient then! |

I'm gonna have to eat the cockerels from the Inc hatch I couldn't have gone ahead with more hatching, if I was willing to be responsible for the cockerels. In some ways I am looking forward to home grown chicken, and in others ways it'll be sooo hard |

Do like we do. Butcher and then put in freezer till you forget about it, then pull it out and pretend it came from the store. |

Actually yes - it looks fantastic, and to be fair it would be the OH that would dispatch them. I think if I bred for the table then I would be happier. I did want to breed rabbits for the table but I don't think Kev could bring himself to dispatch them |
