Sour earth in permantent run...what to do?

You could try digging diatomacious earth into the soil, I know it's used for gardening as well but not sure why - might help though.

Thanks, I had dismissed it, but might try it. I wonder would it help dry the area, or does the water-leeching effect only work on live organisms?

it would help to dry the area initially, but after it rained it would probably be jsut as wet.

DE can hold 10 times its weight in water but I don't know how easily it gives it up - if it drains well then it could really help - if not it could be a temporary thing, but worth a try.

Ta, the area is really well drained, it's almost dry after 24 hours without rain now. Might be the way to go.
