Duh! Having a thick moment here - didn't think about it, but there's another islander on the board!
Only benefit of this year's summer weather - we have had less midgies here! |

| I made one, very quickly this afternoon, during a thunderstorm. Of course, the flies are all ignoring it!! |

Put up some road signs for them ..... flies this way ~ free food
Perhaps your flies are more picky ~ maybe they want something different |

| I could send you some Surströmming - if that doesn't attract the flies, nothing will. |

| It sounds like it might smell on a par with the red top flytrap! |

| I have Marmite in bulk, so if you think that will work, I may add it to my concotion of syrup, apricot jam and bits of tomato! |

No. And no one in my office (who are nearly all Swedish) have either, which makes me worry.

I went a bit mad before coming over, and bought 8 x 500g jars, I'm only a quarter of the way through the first. I have a feeling I'll have to give some away.
Mojo, Trisha? Do you like Marmite?

Nooooooooooo ! that is just wrong ! it's a travesty they have altered the consistency of it to do that !
Is it still in a shape of a "marmite" - French name for a cauldron they have a festival in Geneva that I can't remember the name of now but they have chocolate Marmites filled with Marzipan fruits = Mark remembers it very fondly from his time there |
