I have treated my house with Duramitex but it does look (and smell) horrible and the warnings on the bottle make me not want to buy any more once I have used it up, I think I might grow three heads or something. I now have some mite powder which I think smells lovely - sort of licorice type fragrant smell and you dust it on the birds when they are asleep Twisted Evil
Only trouble is though I don't think they like it - I dusted some in their nest box and they wouldn't lay eggs in there until I cleaned it all out again.
Mine dust bath in holes that they dig in the lawn - no powder or anything in fact they are probably adding pests to their feathers by doing that. They wouldn't use a bath I provide though - they choose their own spot and dig!
