|
|
Hi all!
I am wondering if anyone has experience with the electrified poultry wire. We live along a creek, which is popular with foxes, raccoons, and other critters. Many critters. We sadly lost our first two pullets to either a fox or coyote invasion. Though we now have a Border Collie protecting the yard, we are ever vigilant to preventing a re-occurrence. The predator entered in a place I didn't think one could, therefore I doubt my own carpentry skills at the moment!
Has anyone used the electrified wire?
Thank you.
My best,
Melissa |

We use poultry netting - 50m of mesh that's got the wire in it. It works wonderfully well, as a rather large black labrador and several hedgehogs can testify.
An 85AmpH battery will last for several months between charges, and we've now got it on a solar charger. Our comparatively small energiser will do up to about 3 Km (1 1/2 miles) of single strand wire with one heck of a kick. |

| Someone let it off the lead. It ran into the fence. It lept in the air and landed in the cold frame. |
