I noticed 3 gardens along from me, there are what look to be 2 traps, The garden is about 200' long and is given up to growing veggies totally. I heard last years crop was munched ruthlessly by the local bunnies, and I assume old George has now decided to get equal. I am VERY worried as my cat walks through this garden. I don't mind so much if it causes no injury, and he just releases my cat, as I'm sure the cat wouldn't fall for it twice, but I'm fretting about it being a 'killing' machine.
Its a wire cage, approx 2' long by 1'. About 1/3 from the closed end, there is a metal rod that goes from the corner to the top at about a 45 degree angle. The other end is fully open.
Does this sound like a trap to you.. and if so will it maim? |

it sounds like a live trap to me,
if so there will be no harm to your cats and he can just let them go if they get in there
you could always ask him |

| It might be as well to have a word with your neighbour anyway. It's a live trap, but he could be fed up with cats using his freshly dug veg garden (as well as rabbits eating his produce) |

Thanks all, I think Ive just tracked it down, and as you all said its a humane one. At least I can sleep tonight now...
I keep my cats in at night, but a 14 year old cat who every day has had access to the outside, would not have been happy if I'd turned him into a house cat (nor would I)
I will have a word with Ol George, I gave him a couple of bags of chook pooh a couple years ago, I think I will take him two bags of my 'prime' aged chook pooh, hope that will keep him sweet, if he catches my ginger Thomas.
Thanks x |
