So. how deep should we plant the cut off bits?

Plant them so that a little bit of the top surface of the offcut is visible above ground, all the way along, but most is covered with soil.

i always give mine a bit of frost before i plant it after i've spilt it as well as well ,it's ment to be better for it ,but probably an old wives tale Wink Embarassed

Not quite sure what you mean by all the way along., Are you talking about a single offcut, i.e. planted horizntally, or a row of the beasts? :S

Sorry, I didn't make it very clear did I? The offshoots should be planted so most of it is underground but you should be able to see the lighter coloured shoot just above the earth. Some offshoots are lumps, some are horizontal so it depends what shape yours are! Embarassed Laughing

To be honest, they are not that fussy, so you can bury them completely and they'll still come up. I just try to replicate how they look when cut off the main plant.
