My pots were rubbish, my strawberries all went mouldy, birds had most of the gooseberries and rasps, sweet peas went no where and didnt flower and the weeds have now taken over Sad

But my sweetcorn is great. We are eating it at almost every meal Laughing, scrambled eggs and sweetcorn for dinner tonight Laughing Its being turned into sweetcorn and runner bean relish, very nice, taken off the cobs, bagged up and frozen and the chickens are feasting on any cernals left on the cores and any cobs that dont make the grade Laughing

Made up a bit for the rotten summer and theres always next year to do better with the other crops that failed this year Laughing

Superb sweetcorn Jan - I didn't grow any this year, but the fields round here are full of not fully mature sweetcorn. A bit earlier I really thought that it wouldn't amount to anything because of July's rain and lack of sun but it's come right. The only thing that's done well in my garden is leeks - oh and my strawbs are early and I picked about 8lbs in total from mid May to June.
Courgettes/marrows badly affected by mildew.
