Tonight while I was cleaning out the ducks I put them and their pool in with the hens to see what would happen. The hens and Roodolph stole the ducks food but apart from that the 2 groups ignored each other. I am hoping that this bodes well for the time in the near future when I can keep them together permanently. For now the ducks will be in the shed until someone is home to look out for them and then they will get out to play.

Playtime:

where my daughter lives they have a city farm and they have chickens and ducks ~ they all run together in the paddock ~ posh name for the smallish field they are in. I've been there a few times with my grandson and I've never seen the ducks and chickens mixing, they just all seem to go about their own business as if the others don't exist. So maybe it will go well for you jaydee.
Love the ducklings having a swim

Did you see the cute Eider ducks last night on Springwatch. They were cute.

You don't have to look!

Handy Hint - if a topic says duck there may be a picture of one/some in it!
